Da Vinci Robot Assembly

Robo India presents tutorial for assembling ROBO INDIA’s Da Vinci Robot chassis.

1. Introduction:

In this tutorial assembly of ROBO INDIAs Da Vinci Robot. Da Vinci is a general purpose robot chassis. This chassis is designed to be used with Arduino and BO motors. This robot chassis can be used to construct various robots such as line follower, grid solving robot, wireless controlled robot, PC controlled robot, XBee controlled robot, Bluetooth controlled robot, DTMF robot and many more.

2. Anatomy of Chassis parts:

You may download the actual size PDF file of anatomy from here get the printout of this file and put parts on the printout to identify parts.

3. Assembly of Da Vinci Robot

3.1 Get left motor mounting plate, BO motor and BO motor mounting nuts and bolts. Tight BO motor with the Left Motor mounting plate as shown ahead.

3.2 Now take BO motor wheel and wheel screw. Tight the wheel to motor shaft with the help of screw as shown ahead.

3.3 Repeat above step 3.2 for right motor as well.

3.4 Now take battery mounting plate and batter holder and tight both of them with the help of two set of nuts and bolts as shown ahead.

3.5 Now take Arduino Board, Arduino mounting plate, screws and studs. First tight studs to the plate with the help of 4 screws. Now tight Arduino board on the studs as shown ahead.

3.6 Now mount sensor on the sensor plate using 2 sets of nuts and bolts for each sensor. It is to be noted that there should be sensor space between sensor and sensor plate.

3.7 Take base plate, two castor wheels, 6 set of nuts and bolts for caster mounting. Mount caste on the base plate. Now take sensors and 4 sets of nuts and bolts and mount the sensor to the base plate as shown ahead.

3.8 Fix the following plates in each others slots as shown in the following image. You will get the structure as shown in next image.

3.9 Fix the structure you got in last step to the base plate, you may take guidance from the following image. Tight this structure to the base plate with the help of two sets of long nut and bolt.

3.10 And here is your Da Vinci Robot.

You May attach any shield to the Arduino Board eg. a motor shield as shown in the image ahead.
